Its not my clock, I swear

Although one could make a compelling argument that I am drawn to adorable children's products because my maternal instincts are slowly kicking in but I beg to differ. I just have an appreciation for well designed products for kids and seeing how I was one, I can see the appeal of any item that hints at adulthood in an endearing way. These swimsuits from Dagmar Daley could not be any more darling, which speaks to all of their clothing - not just their swim collection. Plus, the children in their catalog are beautiful and let's be honest....no one wants to look at ugly kids.

Swing!

The genius behind Softline's ME & U Swinging chairs is the combination of playground whimsy and the comfort of a loveseat right in your living room. Who doesn't like to swing? No one. This way you can do it AND watch The Hills at the same time....brilliant! Or, wouldn't your kid be the luckiest in the world to have this in a playroom?

The Tree Pee

When thinking about my childhood, the word depravity does not come to mind. BUT, things could have been a lot better if I had one of these. The TreePee, an instant tree house/tent. "Its a tent...Its a bouncy castle...Its a swing...Its a trampoline!" And best of all, it comes in pink.

Fun House

How fun would it be to have any of these charming little playground ideas incorporated into your home? I'm thinking you better be ready to have all the neighborhood kids over.

Happy Halloween

Marcy the Monkey
Roy the Rooster
Tristen the Seal
Kit the Cat

I thought Halloween was the perfect occasion to showcase these adorable licensed creatures. I am unable to find who is the original illustrator or creator but the line is available on numerous goods worldwide. This is not a style that I am typically drawn to but there is something so fantastic about morbidity at its cutest. Its different and interesting.

Happy Birthday Barbie

Christian Leboutin was commissioned by Mattel to create these pink pumps.

Fashion Illustrations available at Pottery Barn Kids

Two of my favorites from my personal collection.

This year marked the 50th anniversary of Barbie. In celebration of her birthday, Jonathon Adler designed a full scale Malibu mansion in honor of her Dream House. I, of course, think this is brilliant. She celebrated her 50th globally with numerous corporations participating in specialized merchandise, including Pottery Barn Kids and Dylan's Candy Bar.

Although Barbie has numerous critics, I am definitely not one of them. I LOVE Barbie. I say that in present tense because my love for her as a child has never diminished. I find her to be an icon - she is both beautiful and an inspiration.

Charlie Harper

I have always been a fan of Charlie Harper - even before I knew who he was. I grew up with images of him around me and I am a huge proponent for art education at a young age. I know some people are against the commercialization of his work and others in this type of format but I think its great. Harper's work lends itself perfectly to children's illustration and games and all the books and puzzles are beautifully done.

Happy Easter

Easter has always been my favorite Holiday - everything is pastel, the candy is fantastic, the icons are cute little bunnies and chickens. Whats not for a girl to like?

Slide

My sister and I used to put a mattress over our basement stairs in order to make a slide out of them on special occasions. We would have killed to live in a house with one built in! What a great idea. It would also be great to sit at a little table and write on the wall.

Tooth Fairy Kit

This is a 'Toothfairy Kit' sold on Fawn & Forest. I think its a great idea - especially in this beautifully packaged letterpress format, complete with tiny envelopes and documentation seals. What a great thing for a kid to have.
