Eric Zener

Under the Blue Veil Arching

Blue Gaze

Eric Zener does these phenomenal paintings of underwater scenes that capture the essence of swimming in a way that I find to be breathtaking - literally. I almost want to hold my breath when I look at these. I love the water and I love to swim and to be able to paint the bubbles and motion of being underwater so realistically is nothing short of spectacular.

Sushi Night

How lucky am I to live with a man that can make sushi at home? We were also fortunate enough to have fatty salmon flown in fresh from the docks of Maine and FedExed to our doorstep! It was so messy that my new kitten had sticky rice all over his paws but it was a lot of fun - and as you can see the rolls turned out spectacularly!

Brooke Hagel

Brooke Hagel has a shop on Etsy where she does custom fashion illustrations that I think are spectacular. This type of artwork has a tendency to lean towards the sleazy or predictable and she manages to always draw in a manner that is whimsical in tasteful manner. I adore her brides! I can only hope I will be able to afford her when the times comes - notice all her subjects look very thin too :)

Fifi

I love this eccentric bunny artwork. Fifi does collections of illustrations featuring the Bunny wearing Couture - sometimes featuring her dog Stella and often with fabulous accessories. I like the fact that Fifi is not your typical perfect bunny - she's a little scruffy but she is still capable of pulling off splendid clothing. It sends a message that no girl has to be completely put together to have style.

Simply Stunning

As you can see from these photographs, the progress at a small beach community called Alys Beach is progressing quite nicely. Alys Beach is located along Highway 30A on the Gulf of Mexico. The architecture is nothing short of stunning and the amenities look luxurious. From the pool to the breezy courtyards and the impressive landscape, every aspect of it seems to be a design feat.

The best part about Fiji is the Flat Screens

Bora Bora's Intercontinental Resort & Thalasso Spa is probably one of the world's most beautiful places to go on vacation. Honestly, what could be better than being in an open air bungalow and having a view of crystal clear Pacific waters and a flat screen TV? I wouldn't dream of making the eighteen hour flight without it as an incentive...

Baby Elephant

I want to feed a baby elephant wearing Louis Vuitton!!! (I meant the elephant but it would be nice if we could both be in couture)

What I want today

I have now read about this camera twice this week; once on Style.com and once in Domino Magazine. This can only mean one thing, it takes really fantastic photos and for the price - I must have it!

Letterpress

There is honestly nothing more classically beautiful than a piece of letterpress paper - especially if it is done well. These are done by Elum Designs at www.elum.com, I love all their custom letterpress options and check out their website often. Though I have to say it because this is my blog... the girl at their booth at the National Stationary show in New York this year acted like an idiot.

Kitchen

One Summer night last year, as I was strolling down the streets of Boulder, a quaint and luminescent restaurant caught my eye. I had to stop and turn around to admire the architecture and interior design - all of which were so simple and so chic and went so well with the building and the surroundings. The most impressive part is that is that is all appears so natural and effortless.

The designer ice cream cone ... of course

Sketch Ice Cream is a brilliantly designed Ice Cream store in California; their logo, their interior, their packaging is all so appropriately and tastefully executed by a Design Boutique called Passing Notes (the rest of their portfolio work is impressive as well). It is definitely a source of inspiration!

James

This just looks like a simple and sophisticated restaurant venue located in New York City. I am drawn to these spaces that are semi casual but have a sense of eloquence. I would never describe them as unpretentious because I find that when people describe things as unpretentious - they are typically wrong. Anywhere that serves food in stylish ways is meant to draw in the pretentious...it comes naturally and to deny that would be stupid.

It didn't hurt that the name is James...for personal reasons :)

Perrier-Jouet Champagne

Perrier Jouet has created an experience for the the first tailor made champagne in history - super luxurious.

Bulldog Gin

I may be biased because I personally know and love a bulldog but I think this is fantastic packaging design. Subtly appropriate with the collar - so clever!

Hennesy Ellipse Cognac

This is an extremely high end and expensive bottle of cognac - I'm not sure if it even sells in the United States and I am pretty sure it costs over $1,000. You are essentially buying a small sculpture.

If I could go anywhere...

I would go to the Greek Isles. I would like to see them all, but I think Santorini sounds the most romantic. AND they have a helipad...just in case I fly in.
