Modern Shed

If you have read my local real estate offerings, 'mini-barns' are noted as a positive asset to the property. It is my opinion that's entirely subjective. Modern Shed is offering not only aesthetically awesome storage space but living space as well. In their concise and clever modular offerings, anyone can build a tastefully customized dwelling. Wouldn't these make fantastic lake houses? I just need lake front property... and a boat.

I have no explanation for my obsession with barn conversions... they are just so beautiful! I love a great loft or brownstone, but I'm a country girl at heart. When done well, a great barn conversion artfully places contemporary and city based design against a backdrop of corn fields and rolling hills. It doesn't get any better.

How fun would it be to have any of these charming little playground ideas incorporated into your home? I'm thinking you better be ready to have all the neighborhood kids over.

Wishing pools

My office is sweltering today - which might account for my longing to take an afternoon swim. I realize that 'olympic size' seems to be a selling point for all pools but I adore these quaint courtyard pools. I haven't had the need to swim 50 meters at a time in awhile - just a dip will do. Well, a dip with cute little seats around the edges. And turquoise Italian tile. And not too much shade. And it needs to be heated...

Barn Renovations

As you already know, I adore barn conversions - especially if they preserve the integrity of the original structure and there is an ounce of warmth to them. They have a tendency to go too contemporary and the coziness of a barn is lost so walking a fine line is difficult to do. It requires an enormous amount of talent and I believe, a true passion for the structure you are working on. These caught my eye from Remodelista and Farmhousemodern.com.

Country Livin'

Perhaps having a view of the ocean is a little cliche... rolling midwestern countryside could be just as pleasing. Especially if it is from this fabulous little country retreat in this month's Elle Decor. Wouldn't you love to sip cocktails in the middle of a field like this? I have never been to a bonfire where the accommodations were so lovely!
